Firstly i would just like to thank my watchers who supported me again during a tough and long WIP process (I had to change the background).

I've been wanting to do a series of fanart drawings of my favourite film of all time 'The Dark Knight' . But i only wanted to do it when i felt ready and could do the best 'batman' and 'joker' drawings i possible could. This is my first batman graphite drawing, but i am planning on doing 2 or 3 of both characters.

I tried to replicate every component and material according to the reference pic. And overall it took about 55- 60 hours over 7 days.

I like to give my own take on fanart rather than just copying the reference picture exactly. So i originally had the sky full of bats, with a bat in flying in front of the moon so it looked like the batsign (i will use this in another drawing of batman). But after starting the background yesterday i quickly realised that the background looked way to chaotic and a mess. So i made the decision to leave the bats (the moon and clouds were already done). And instead go for the classic batsign emerging out of gotham city. But because the clouds had been fully shaded the bat light is darker than i wanted it.

The drawing was done on A3 Bristol Board paper using standard and mechanical graphite pencils.

I have to say, I'm not to much of a batman fan...I'm more of a Spiderman girl hehe, anyways, I'm most certainly not as good as you, but i know good artists when i see them. You sir, has got it. What i mean by it you ask? Talent, i mean you have serious talent here. The fine details, every stroke of graphite is in the perfect position down to the buildings in the background. I sat here staring long and hard trying to find a flaw, I ALWAYS find a flaw in the greatest of works, but this? None, you have left me baffled, I see nothing wrong in this picture, great work!

To be honest and fair, I have to admit, I'm not really that big a fan of Batman. I feel he'll be absolutely butchered by others like Wonder Woman or Iron Man, but I have to admit, this piece of art is AWESOME. I love all the texture that you gave his suit and the Bat light in the background is REALLY cool. The way his cape drapes around him is really nice too. He should have been given a slightly longer neck though..
Otherwise, it is a fantastic piece of art, really great job. Do draw more superheroes soon :D.
