After 3 months of practiseing and using graphite, i decided to try put all of the techniques i learned during that time into this 'Avengers' drawing. And after a tough 90 hours over 9 days I have finally finished it.
When i was younger I was a massive comic book fan and i really liked the avengers (it was not one of my favourites but the hulk was). But i was sceptical that all those characters could be brought together succesfully into one film. But after seeing the 'Avengers' i was proved wrong and was blown away. The last hour is probably the best action sequences and CGI i have seen in a movie. And the hulk in my eyes completely stole the film. Making this my movie of 2012 and my 2nd favourite superheroe movie behind TDK.
This drawing is in homage to the last epic battle scene. I did not want to just re-create the poster, so i got 4 posters i liked and mixed them together to create a whole unique one. I also only wanted the 4 main avengers walking torwds you and the battle raging on behind. With the stark building (again) and the burnig plane in the background (which has the other two avengers in,like in the movie). And on the top right i decided to put the huge leviathon aliens coming towards the avengers (which is not on any poster). With missiles and meteriots blowing up the city.
Here are some of my other 'fanart' graphite drawings.
The drawing was done on A3 Bristol Board paper using standard and mechanical graphite pencils.
The reference i used are: For the Hulk, Thor and Captain America [link]. For Iron man (will need to get). For the background buildings and plane [link]. For the meteroits and missiles showering down and foreground [link]. Leviathon was from drawing from the movie whilst paused.
I must say, this picture is really really REALLY good! Thor came out fantastic! I like the attention you gave to Iron Man's suit and Hulk is simply breathtaking! It's real cool that you took the trouble to sketch his rippling veins and muscles in that much detail. I also like the fact that you put the Stark tower in the background. By now I am quite sure that I can safely assume that you are a real comic hero fan and I do hope that you will keep reeling off amazing works of art like this for us other not so talented fans to admire... Superb job..
I cannot describe how this literally blows my mind!
Every thing about this is just amazing! You got everyone perfectly right! You seem to put a lot of effort into this since how well you got all of them to look like the ones in the movie! My favorites would have to Hulk and Thor in this one because they seem to get my attention the most because of realistic they mostly look!
The background looks absolutely great itself! Again, you did it realistic! And this one of the best Avenger fanarts I'd ever saw~! I really hope you do more! Very nice job!
