Robocop Graphite Drawing

Description

This is one of my favourite scenes from Robocop. Where robocop goes into the police computer lab and pulls out his USB spike, to the shock of the geeky computer guy who was hassling him.

Robocop is also also one of my all time favourite films.

Here are some of my other 'fanart' graphite drawings.

Drawing was done on A3 bristol board with standard and mechanical graphite pencils.

So maybe I'm a bit Biased due to my love of the movie, and character, but here goes...

I feel that this is a phenomenally done piece of work. The attention to detail is stunning to me, in the intricate light reflections on the reflective metals, as well as the small details like the insides of the knuckles.
As i said, the light and shadow work blows me away. I personally would like to see Robocop in a harsher light, with a bit more contrast, darker darks, and lighter lights. However that is a personal issue, as the artist's style works for this piece.
the likenesses are very good. The look on the officer to the right's face is spot on, and it is apparent that he is fixated on the data spike that has just violently popped from Robo's fist. Peter Weller has a very distinct face, with interesting skeletal build, and unique lips. I feel that the artist succeeded fully in capturing Murphy's likeness, as well as the boyish qualities in a hardened face.
I enjoy the background, and appreciate the time that went into detailing the electronic instruments. As I said earlier, I would have liked to see more light/dark contrast, and maybe shadow the background more, to make robo pop out a bit more dramatically. That said, the attention to detail in the background is impressive.
I very much like the work of this artist, and am excited to see more pieces. Great work, in my opinion.
