Graphite portrait of my 'MUM'

Finally finished my mums A3 portrait, after trying to figure out what to do with the background. I was originally just going to replicate the original photos background which was a field with flowers, but after alot of thought i realised that was pretty boring, so decided to go with what you see.

It's pretty different from my usual work because of the softness. But it is still partly like the original, but i went for a more unrealistic 'enchanted forest 'look, with a night sky with twinkling stars. I personally hate flowers but my mum loves them, especially this particlur style i've drawn, so i just went crazy and put them everywhere, and hoped she'd like it (which she did).

I must also point out that when i originally posted the wip,i had alot of comments saying what a nice son i am for doing this. Unfortunately i'm far from it (honestly), so i thought i'd better point it out as i feel like a bit of a hyprocrite otherwise.

Drawing was done A3 bristol board with graphite standard and mechanical pencils and white gel pen for the stars.
