After taking around 60 hours to finish this, my first car graphite drawing, i'm not planning on doing another one any time soon as it was real tough to draw. And as i said during my journal i'm going to try new things that will push me and take me out of my comfort zone. And drawing a car is something i've only done around 3-4 times in my whole life.
I'm also not much of a car fan, but i do love ferraris, especially the '458 itaia' which is why i chose this car to draw. On top of challengeing myself to draw a car i also tried my best to see if i can get the sense of speed, which i think i have achieved.
The drawing Was done on A3 bristol board, using standard and mechanical graphite pencils. And took about 60 hours to complete over 5 days.

Great return on your sixty hours of investment!
I like the composition with the car filling the picture plane at an interesting angle. I am not a fan of the clouds in the sky as i think they detract from the car. To me, the car is the star, and i do not like for it to have any competition for attention. For that reason i think the interior is pretty much spot on. You did not give me a lot of visual information about the driver and such, and i see that as a positive. And yes, you really nailed the sensation of speed...not easy to do.
Your proportions look great, and you did a fine job on the foreshortening. You really captured the lines and character of the Ferrari very well.
For my tastes, i would like smoother gradients. Just my personal preference.
You have a great range of values here, including some deep and rich dark ones. I love how the prancing horse sticks out. And great use of value changes to show the planes and contours of the body. You have shown a lot of attention to the detail by use of highlights, as along the weather stripping on the windows, edges of the hood, and this really adds to the visual impact.
