After finally getting to grasps with the basics of drawing portraits i decided to have a short break. But i'm now back to try and push myself to the next level by really concentrateing on 'skin textures'. Although i'm ok doing skin textures on men, i'm not so comfortable doing them on women.
I chose 'emma stone' for a number of reasons, with the main being that she has alot of freckles and detail on her skin. Secondly because she was one of the first drawings i attempted to do skin textures on 6 months ago when i first started using graphite, you can see it here [link]
. And lastly because she's a really good actress, who i haven't seen do a bad film so far.
My break also lasted a bit longer than planned as i've got a 'callus' on my finger, from drawing so much. It's still there, and can be irrating but i waited long enough for it clear up, and just couldn't wait any longer.
Here are some of my other graphite drawings.
