I've got chronic toothpain so have not been able to draw (it's my fault to much sugar). So i decided to upload a comic strip i drew from 20 years ago when i was 15 (yes i'm in my mid 30's). And was my main character who was called 'Rajman' after me (yes my name is raj).

This comic strip in particular has always been my favourite (and was the most detailed comic strip i have ever drawn). As i have memories of sitting for weeks drawing them with 'robocop' playing in the background during my summer holidays and I can't even calculate how many hours i put into them.

My love for comic characters stems from this time, and i was heavily influenced by 'Todd Mcfarlene' who is one of the greatest ever comic illustrators. Who at that time illustrated 'Spiderman' and the 'Hulk' which were 2 of my favourite comics alongside x-men. During this time I also went on to drawing comics for a national uk asian newspaper and had them published weekly when i was still at school at the age of 15. And at that age i always envisaged myself being a comic illustrator when i was older. But a year or 2 later i lost all interest in drawing comics (not the characters), and have never drawn a comic since.

The comic was drawn on 2 separte A3 (A2 together) cartridge paper, with rotring isograph pens.

Here are some of my recent 'fanart' graphite drawings.

Yeah i've heard it lots of times but not with all caps and that many '!?' marks, so yours still feels unique XD. But seriously not all of my drawings were this good and i spent weeks on these two pages alone.

Trust me when i say i wasn't your 'normal' teenage boy. I sat through my 6 week summer holiday drawing this and only ventured outside once or twice. Also i left school with only one qualifaication in art as i was so obssessed with drawing. If you spent that amount of time drawing and doing nothing else you would have been at the same level. So talent is important but its practiseing continuosly that pushed me to that level.

Dang,
That was pretty deep...
man, I know that I could be a better artist if I tried, but I don't have the patience nor time because of school now. I feel like by making doodles and keeping the pencil moving on a piece of paper I'm keeping my art skills from dropping. But now that I haven't made a real drawing in weeks, I've noticed that my ability to draw something (and look kind of realistic) have dramatically decreased. And ever since schoolwork actually started to become tough, and I've put drawing on the back burner, I've noticed that my creativity has slowly draining out. Idk, maybe it's just artist block

I know, i had artist block for 11 years, but don't do what i did and stop drawing. As your skills will defintely detoriated, especially during your crucial teenage years.

thanks, that means a lot.
I'm going to try to do my best to make better drawings from now on. I got a lot of inspiration from [link] and there was a lot of really good points the author made in that article/story/piece-of-writing.

Yeah read it, pretty interesing i can relate to alot of it. But your still young, and during this crucial time you can learn a hell of alot if you put your mind to it. And If you ever want advice or a critique on one of your drawings just ask.
