'Baby' graphite drawing by Pen-Tacular-Artist 'Baby' graphite drawing by Pen-Tacular-Artist
Yes, it's a baby. I decided to draw a baby to test myself, as it's so far removed from what i'm used to drawing as babies have soft skin and are cute, which is not something i've drawn before. And i now know why, as this drawing was extremely tough as i had to fight my natural urges to add lots of detail.

At one point i spent hours detailing the face, to then realise that she looked like a gremlin, so i had to go back and erase all the detailiing, which was annoying.

The drawing was done on A4 Bristol Board paper using standard and mechanical graphite pencils. Approximately 25 hours to complete.

Here are some of my other graphite drawings.

Very nice job, you are very talented, did you use any charcoal at all? I just started drawing again after about 15 years, bought some books and trying to learn everything I can. How long have you been drawing and have you had any formal training, I saw that some people photo shopped, did you? Love your realistic artwork.

Thanks, i started drawing myself after an 11 year break only 6 months ago. And although i have a degree in product design and had drawn most of my younger years, pencils were never my strong point so i've had to learn alot in the last few months. And in my opinion photoshopping a drawing is cheating, the most i think is acceptable is to adjust the brightness or contrast very 'slightly' so it matches the original drawing as scans can sometimes look a bit off. And i do not use charcoa on my drawings.
